It has been an amazing four weeks studying all about God's truth to get ready for Acquire the Fire 2014 - Epic Truth, Stronger Than Fiction! We started tonight off by watching the promotional video for ATF.
Now just days away from the event, we wrapped things up tonight with a little project. We gave each youth a black and white sketch of a photo of themselves. Using pens, they created their own micrography portrait. Micrography is using words to outline and fill in all of the details on a sketched portrait of yourself. We encouraged the kids to fill in their portraits with TRUTH.....the truth about who they are in Christ, the truths found in Scriptures and some lyrics to their favorite contemporary Christian songs, whatever truth they could come up with that best represented who they are.
The portraits came out amazing and, for those not moving up in May, they will be framed and added to the ZG room decor after promotions.
Thank you so much amazing youth for being here these last few weeks to get pumped up for ATF and armed with God's truth. We love you guys and pray the wisdom you've gained through our studies, smashbooks, and crazy games and activities over the past month have prepared you for Epic Truth! It really is stronger than fiction!
Don't forget to bring your smashbooks to the event if you want to use them to take notes in and wear your leather bracelets we made you proudly. When people ask you about them and the Scripture reference on them, use the opportunity to tell them all about God's truth!!!
